RIPE NCC membership: Internet resources and networks
Clear responsibilities for Internet infrastructure
IP addressing and routing form the basis of networked systems. Our corporate membership in the RIPE NCC has existed since October 2021 and is in the context of a long-term planned internet infrastructure.
What this network stands for
The Réseaux IP Européens Network Coordination Centre is a Regional Internet Registry. The RIPE NCC coordinates the allocation and registration of Internet number resources for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia.
These resources include IP address ranges and autonomous system numbers. For companies, comprehensible address planning, the documentation of responsibilities and suitable routing concepts are important building blocks of a reliable network architecture.
Plan address spaces in a comprehensible way
Networks grow through new locations, cloud environments and services. Documented address ranges and regulated allocation processes facilitate extensions and help to identify overlaps in good time.
Understanding routing and responsibilities
Autonomous systems enable an independent routing domain on the Internet. Whether such a model makes sense for a company depends on connectivity, redundancy, operability, and independence requirements, among other factors.
Combining operations and documentation
Inventory, IP address management and monitoring support traceable network operation. Among other things, NetBox is used on the SYNEDAT platform for infrastructure information; specific customer solutions are based on the agreed requirements.
Membership Questions
How long has membership in the RIPE NCC existed?
SYNEDAT has been a corporate member since October 2021.
What is a Regional Internet Registry?
A RIR coordinates the management and registration of Internet number resources in a specific region of the world. The RIPE NCC is responsible for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia.
What is the difference between RIPE and RIPE NCC?
RIPE is an open community for the technical and administrative coordination of IP networks. The RIPE NCC is the organization that supports this work as a Regional Internet Registry and with other services. This page describes the RIPE-NCC membership.
What is an AS number needed for?
An Autonomous System Number identifies an autonomous system when exchanging routing information. Whether a separate AS number is necessary and suitable must be assessed on the basis of the network and operating concept.
Can a specific IP address be promised via membership?
The availability and allocation of resources are subject to the applicable rules and the specific application. Membership does not result in a commitment for a specific address range.
Does SYNEDAT support network planning?
We can plan address concepts, segmentation, site networking and operational documentation together with you. In the initial meeting, we clarify existing networks, dependencies and the desired development.
Advancing a specific topic together
Would you like to discuss a project with SYNEDAT? Describe your initial situation to us. We will bring together the right technical contact persons and clarify the next step.
