Is TLS transport encryption enough?
TLS protects connections between participating systems. S/MIME or OpenPGP encryption protects the message itself. The required approach depends on recipients, infrastructure and your requirements; we define policies for your actual mail flows.
Does every recipient need a certificate?
S/MIME or OpenPGP requires suitable certificates or keys. GINA offers another route for recipients without their own encryption solution. Registration, authentication and replies should be tested with your recipient groups before rollout.
How does a digital signature differ from an email footer?
A digital signature supports verification of sender authenticity and message integrity. A footer contains items such as contact details or legal notices. Both may matter, but they serve separate purposes.
Can SEPPmail work with Microsoft 365?
SEPPmail can be integrated with Exchange Online. We review connectors, routing, sender policies and existing protection features. The integration approach follows your architecture and is tested with representative messages.
How should we manage certificates and keys?
Define issuance, assignment, renewal and revocation, as well as access, backup and recovery. We account for the selected certificate authority and the capabilities supported by your product option.
How do we choose between cloud and our own gateway?
We compare infrastructure, operational resources, integrations and requirements for data processing and availability. This informs a model with clear responsibilities. Contractual and service scope are agreed before commissioning.
What file sizes does Large File Transfer support?
This depends on the product scope, license, storage, configuration and operating model. We agree required sizes and retention periods and test representative files. Unlimited transfer capacity is not assumed.
Does email encryption replace phishing protection?
Encryption protects confidentiality; filtering and other controls address different risks. We align SEPPmail with existing spam, malware and identity protection. Additional filtering services are assessed separately where needed.
Does SEPPmail automatically meet every privacy requirement?
A product alone does not replace assessment of your processing and workflows. Configuration, access rights, contracts and operational procedures must fit the intended use. SYNEDAT supports implementation and documented testing of agreed requirements.
Can we start small or improve an existing installation?
Yes. A limited pilot with selected mailboxes and recipients suits a new deployment. For existing systems, we begin with policies, certificates, mail flow and operational documentation, then prioritize the next steps.
